Woodworking Bench Overhang. For the past six months, I've been hammering and banging on a flimsy folding plastic table. Work benches are a very personal thing, because we all use them for different kinds of work.
It can get the job done, but not as easily as when you are working on your woodworking bench, not to even mention the countless ways your project could go wrong without. The workbench shown here was made of materials left over from a previous project. I chop mortises over the legs.
I would recommend routing out the particle board in the middle about an inch deep and glue a piece of solid wood in the end.

I suspect the overhang in the picture you show would be fine as it is counter balanced by the weight of the drawers and their contents. Is building a bench really an optimal solution, and are DIY woodworking workbench plans worth looking into? First, there are a number of tasks involved in building this workbench that can be done faster, easier, and with more precision, on more sophisticated tools.
